Hardcore Dezign (sometimes spelled with a z, sometimes with an s) was a swedish-based group, seeminly concentrating on the boardscene. 1993 - Swedish Manta (ascii sysop FORBIDDEN DREAMS, 09/93-) left the group some time between october and november, when he resurfaced in Alcatrash. PREVIOUS MEMBERS (pre 12/91). Hardline was a german-based demo group. 1991 - The demo "Relation" [07/91] was released at Energy, Awesome and Hypnotic's party in july. The simple intro "Girl-Inftro" [12/91] was released at the beginning of december, and announced Slicer as the new leader of the group, after Diabolo stepped down due to a lack of time. It also announced three new members recruited from Stardust (where Slicer recently spent one week as a member before returning to his mother group): Bounty (gfx), Crush (music) and Tai (music). Relation (1991, 14.07, OCS File). 5th in the Energy, Awesome and Hypnotic Party demo competition. Multi-Colour Intro (1991, 02.11, OCS Intro). Released at World of Commodore 91. info: Release date cited in "Girl-Inftro", though they incorrectly called the event "AmiExpo" :) Girl-Inftro (1991, 07.12, OCS Intro). info: Release date is late november or early december (featured on pack released on the 9th). Haujobb is a German-based demo group, born on the Amiga in 1994, but later also active over a wide range of other platforms, including the pc, c64 and even the Playstatiion! Their world leader is XXX. 1994 - Black Raven (Roman, code) and SMT (music) joined from Infect, and announced their new group with the dentro "Artcore" [08/94]. Just one day later, Black Raven released "Bye Scenelife", his farewell intro to the scene. Now, this is actually slightly confusing, since he contributed to productions released AFTER this date... though his last recorded code was in october of this year. Perhaps these were pre-coded productions? We will investigate and return with our findings. SMT also contributed to the musicdisk "Legalize It 2.5" [10/94], but this was his last production this year. 1995 - SMT moved on to Artwork sometime between june and december. With Style (1997, 09.08, AGA 64k Intro). code: Speedo, gfx: Bay Tremore, music: Muffler. 4th in the Assembly 97 64k intro competition. review: It opens with a cool, zooming Haujobb logo by Bay Tremore and continues with some typical Muffler-style music. The zooming, twisting tunnel is another highlight, and also the twirling bumpmap routine that follows it. You may have gotten the idea by now; I quite like this. It's fast, cool and colorful. Not the world's most impressive intro, but still very nice. :) Please note that this review refers to the 'final' version, released after the party, with bugfixes and faster routines. They were a multi-faceted group, releasing games, tools and trainers, as well as producing some doors. 1995 - Sometime between august and october, WHQ was changed from OASIS to BOONDOCKS. Danish sysop Enzo (SKY TOWER EHQ) was busted at the end of october. Enzo was known for having lots of payleechers, as well as selling streamer tapes and cd's with stuff... After first announcing he would leave the scene, he reconsidered and finally rebuilt his board and continued his activities. A text file was spread in november (HF-BUST.TXT), saying Iggy and Jam were both busted. As far as we know, both continued their activities. 1996 - A text file was spread in june, saying Hellfire Console was born. Hoodlum was a german-based illegal cracking group, certainly among the leading ones, and remembered today mostly for their chartmag World Charts, editored by Autopsy (and previously also released under a few other groups). They had the group Chryseis as their demo section for a while. 1995 - In a cracktro dated may, both PIRATES HEAVEN and THE VOID were named WHQ... :) 1996 - Coder, cracker and coorganizer The Black Cat (01/95-), starting to feel the heat of the police in his neck, faked his own death by stating in a cracktro released early this year that he had died of a drug overdose. There were two Horizon's, both of which existed around the same time. HZ real was the original Horizon, coming from the c64, while the others were the cracker and demo group that a.o. had Gaston cracking for them. Diffrentiating the two is made further difficult by the fact that they were both based in Sweden :) Virtual Intelligence (1991, ECS File). code: Boogaloo, Exilon, gfx: Pernod, music: Tomas Danko Jr. review: This HZ demo shows some technically competent coders doing advanced stuff with vectors. Unfortunately, it's not really very entertaining. There's lots of (for its time) innovative stuff here, but it falls into that old effect-text-effect trap. Sometimes, it works (like in The Silents' "Global Trash"). Most of the time, though, it doesn't. Some of the stuff you get to see is texturemapping, animated texture- mapping, sphere vectors... You get the picture. The music is adequate, though - but then again it should be, when it's by Danko! [glenn] GLE tested A1200/030-50/2mb chip, 4mb fast/3.0. -- Note: Needs KillAGA. Humanoids (-1990) ----------------- Humanoids died after the group merged with members of Arcadia (earlier Arcadia Team) to create the new group Scope. Hurricane (-1992) ----------------- Hurricane was a Danish demo group. After arranging the large but disastrous Hurrican Summer Party 92, the group's reputation was shattered. They therefore decided to split up and go their separate ways (this concerns Brian ++). 1992 - Profile left to be independent, while Trax changed his handle to Summelove and left in august. Hydronic (1991-1991) -------------------- Formed by R.W.O, S.L.L (who both were in Rebels for 14 days after Kefrens died) and 4 other ex-Kefrens guys. However, Hydronic soon became the new Kefrens. The demo "Guardian Dragon" was originally developed for Hydronic. Hypnotic (HPN) -------------- Boards; ROTTERDAM SUBWAY WHQ (ger, 08/94). Hypnotic was a demo group, but also released some fixes to older gamecracks. 1992 - Buzzard joined Damian in september.
